The Oregon-based Swado swaddle company was named the Swaddle Product of the Year 2023 by Baby Innovation Awards.
There are a lot of products on the market aimed at helping you dress, transport, teach, walk with, wash, feed, diaper, and entertain your baby. The possibilities are overwhelming. Have no fear; the 2023 Baby Innovation Awards winners are out, and the list includes at least one Northwest baby care company.
The international independent awards program recognizes industry leaders in the most competitive categories of the baby care market: bath and diapers, health products, nursing and baby food products, baby clothing, infant toys, learning products, car seats, strollers, and items for nurseries. According to the 2023 Baby Innovation Awards announcement, the awarding organization is independent and has no ties to industry companies, products, or interests.
Still, it should be said that while these products have been lauded, and in many cases can be helpful when a new baby arrives, none of them necessary to raise a safe and thriving baby. All you really need in that department are diapers, a baby bed, breast milk or formula, clothes to match the season, a pediatric health care provider, and a whole lot of love.
Billions in baby products
“Consumer spending in the baby care market is projected to reach over 19 billion by 2030. It’s no surprise that 70% of parents gather information about baby care products prior to purchase. When it comes to decisions for a baby’s health and well-being, parents need the peace of mind that the services and products they are purchasing are vetted and take their processes responsibly,” said Independent Innovation Awards Managing Director Travis Grand in a release.
“It takes more than passion, creativity, and hard work to become an innovator; it takes commitment,’ Grand added. “The Independent Innovation Awards are honored to celebrate and highlight this year’s winners as they elevate the baby care industry to new heights.”
A Northwest win
Oregon-based Swado Swaddle was among this year’s winners – taking the prize for one of the most competitive products, swaddling. Swado is a family-owned business that launched in 2016.
Its swaddles are easily adjustable and secure with the touch of a hand, and they silently open and close during diaper changes, which may help keep snoozing babies stay asleep. They also have a “certified hip-healthy design,” — which means the swaddles allow flexion for hips and legs.
2023 winners list
