A popular baby shop is moving from its Grimsby store to Louth after an impressive year of trading.
Millie and Ralph, which is currently situated on Peacefield Business Park in Holton-le-Clay, recently celebrated its first year in business after opening last March. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength and is now expanding to Louth, opposite its warehouse.
The new look shop will be on Fairfield Industrial Estate just outside the market town, offering a more spacious site with ample parking. Co-owner Charlotte Ashcroft started the business with partner Ben and hasn’t looked back since.

She said: “The past year has gone far better than we ever thought it would. We even have people travelling from all over the country to come and buy our products. It’s nice to know the brand has gone further than just the local area.”
She added: “We think we can improve on this further in Louth and we also have our own parking which is great. Being opposite the warehouse means we can access everything easier too and the team can work as one rather than going from site to site.”
The new premises is around 1,000 square feet bigger than the current shop and will offer a chance to display more products. However, with such a big move on the horizon, it’s a nerve racking time for Charlotte and the team. “We’re all equally excited and anxious about the opening.

“We want everything to be ready for the launch on Friday, 22 September, and there will be loads of offers and deals on from the minute we open the doors.” There will also be the chance to win a massive teddy by taking part in a name card with all the proceeds going to Lily’s Rainbow Fund charity.
After a remarkable first year, Charlotte believes the customer experience is what has kept them in good stead. She said: “The consistency we show with our customers is why we are still going strong. Throughout the store and online we treat customers as friends and we’re also very trustworthy.”
She added: “However, if you’d have told me this is where I’d be when we started I would never have believed you. The team are just so happy to be coming together and to be opening the new store. The dream now is just to keep expanding and maybe become a chain as well as a household name.”
